Description


The Primary Care Orthopaedics program will provide a complete review of the basic principles of orthopaedic care. Particular attention is paid to the diagnosis and initial management of the orthopaedic problems most commonly seen by the primary care giver.

This self-study activity is intended to enable internists, primary care and family physicians, emergency room physicians, pediatricians, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals to develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge base and skills in managing common orthopaedic problems.

Learning Objectives


At the conclusion of this CME activity, the participant will be better able to:
  • Diagnose common orthopaedic problems
  • Safely manage those problems which are appropriately treated by a primary care giver
  • Determine which problems need to be referred to an orthopaedist and urgency of referral
